Our Venture in Gratitude for Wellness

Slice of pumpkin pie on a white plate on a wooden table. Gratitude for Wellness. As we approach another Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to reflect on the past year and all the changes that came with it.

Gratitude for Wellness. As we approach another Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to reflect on the past year and all the changes that came with it. As a marketing strategy firm, it can be hard to not get caught up in the industry and what the larger, “more successful” firms are doing. What’s even harder, is not comparing our small business to those ones either. As a firm of two (Owner Frederick Geiger and Director of Content and Design, Kelly Gallagher), we’ve done a fantastic job of not following our own client advice. We rarely rest, as we say yes to too many things. We don’t outsource or ask for help when we need it. We’ve gotten involved in engagements that don’t resonate with our core values. And as a result, we’ve been feeling the overwhelming heaviness of burnout.

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
– Melody Beattie

In fact, in both mental and physical capacities, things had gotten to such a low place that both of us realized things desperately need to change. It’s been through gradual meditation practices and baby steps that we’ve been getting clear in our vision again. And through practicing gratitude for wellness, we’re aligning with our core values again.

“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”
– Buddha

Health and wellness are extremely important to both of us. Organic living aided by holistic practice supplementation has completely changed our lives. Without diving into the demons of our past, we can both say that through changing the way we ate, moved our bodies, and changed our inner dialogue, we have been evolving into completely different people. Meditation and yoga keep anxieties at bay. While organic eating and exercise keep inflammation down and energy up.

“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.”
– Anonymous

It’s easier to have a positive view of the world when you simply feel better. And as we have been pulled back into negative health cycles, we know this is truer than ever. This is why in the last few months, we have completely shifted our target client and want to focus on the health and wellness space. We are proof that things get better when your mental, physical, and spiritual health come into positive alignment. And because of that, we want to do all we can to help those in this space continue helping and healing those in the greater Pittsburgh area.

“At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
– Albert Schweitzer

We are grateful for wellness in regard to this last year of obstacles. Grateful for the “funks” and the burnout. Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to see so clearly those we want to help. And the differentiator we have in this over-saturated marketing space. Positive means of health and wellness are truly lacking in our culture, and we believe that the more we all begin to “feel better” the better, in turn, we can make the world. We want to say thank you to the clients who have supported us in this transition, and the new ones we’ve met on this journey. Thank you for allowing us to follow our passion for wellness while simultaneously helping you clarify your own message and grow. We’re excited to continue on this path with you and watch you reach your potential of healing others.

“No one who achieves success does so without the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.”
– Alfred North Whitehead

Wishing you and yours a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving,
Frederick Geiger and Kelly Gallagher
