AI Concerns – How does Artificial Intelligence lie?

AI is in the news every day this new year. Each morning I get a recent article in my NY Times news feed, and I decided to join the fray and have some fun simultaneously. I have been using Jasper AI daily since October and found it a handy tool. In two weeks, I will be starting weekly blog posts on how AI is useful for small business marketing efforts. But before we look at the good, here are some things to be aware of. So, I asked Jasper to write a short blog post on how AI lies. So here you have it straight from the source:

AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we do business, but it also has its own set of downsides. One of the most serious drawbacks is that AI is capable of lying and manipulating data. In this blog post, we’ll explore how AI can misshape information and why it’s important to address these issues head-on before they become more widespread.

First off, let’s look at some of the ways AI can falsify information. AI systems are programmed to find patterns in large datasets and then draw conclusions from them. This means that if a dataset contains errors or bias, the AI system could use those irregularities to create false claims or associations between unrelated data points. This type of manipulation can lead to inaccurate results, which can affect people’s decisions or even put them in danger.

Furthermore, machine learning algorithms are often used for facial recognition and security systems. When fed biased data sets or incorrect parameters, these algorithms can incorrectly identify people and even generate false positives when tracing criminal activities. This risks sending innocent people wrongfully accused of crimes down a very dangerous road if left unchecked.

Finally, AI-driven bots are being used more and more in our daily lives as assistants and customer service representatives. Due to their autonomous nature they often lack empathy while providing answers that might be inaccurate or simply made up by the developers who programmed them – leading unsuspecting customers into making decisions based on wrong assumptions or outright lies presented by the bots as facts.

It’s important for organizations to stay vigilant when using any kind of Artificial Intelligence system since incorrect data can lead to disastrous outcomes for both companies and customers alike. That’s why it’s essential for organizations to make sure their datasets remain valid, unbiased and up-to-date so that any decisions taken based on them will be reliable ones. Additionally, organizations should invest time into testing their machine learning algorithms regularly in order to ensure they’re producing accurate results on an ongoing basis so any risk associated with fake news generated by AI-powered tools is minimized as much as possible

I have not found much bias in Jasper AI because of how I use it. I build small chunks of content for specific purposes. I start with an outline, fill in the system with content, and then use the tool to generate post summaries, headlines, metadata, and the like depending on what I am creating. At each step, I choose the content proposed that I am using. While AI is a tool that extends our ability, we need to remain in control of how that tool is used. So unless I want to lie, the AI-assisted content I create will remain truthful.
